Dr Cabrera Alvarez’s top 5 Quiz makers to practise vocabulary

Quiz makers are fantastic to help you remember vocabulary. I like to use them to practise concepts that are particularly complex. In order for them to work effectively you need to make sure you play these games a few minutes every day. That way you will be able to keep the new words in your long term memory. Ready? This is my selection of quiz makers:

Quizlet

Quizlet is probably my favourite. It is free to use, you can either find already made games or you can create your own. Just type in a list of vocabulary and transform it in different games. It is super easy and quick to do and you can add pictures. Some of the activities include audios.

LearningApps

I use this one a lot too! Once again, you can find already made activities or create activities that might help you learn a particular topic. It does not have to be just languages. I particularly like video activities with embedded tasks.

Kahoot

Really fun to use! It reminds me of “Who wants to be a millionaire” as it gives you 4 different options to answer questions. This one has leaderboards.

Quizizz

Very fun too! Just find a quiz you are interested in. You can play it on your own or with friends. This one also has leaderboards.

Quiz maker

This one is more focused on quiz creation instead of offering already made games. It is very simple to use and offers a lot of different possibilities. You can even create more than 1 type of question per quiz: multiple choice, text, video, images…

What do you think about these quiz makers? Would you have included a different one?
